Custom Charms

Looking for a new idea for a club membership award or event memento?

Try giving out our new 1” Custom Charms. Custom Charms are an inexpensive alternative to lapel pins. Recipients can easily attach to key rings, zipper pulls and more, making them appropriate for all ages.

The best part about custom charms is that you get to make it your own in three easy steps: choose your shape, choose your design and text and choose your finish.

Step 1: Choose Your Shape

The shape options for your charms are pretty flexible. You can choose from eight standard equestrian shapes that we offer. (Shown below)

or you can use your own shape. A few great ideas for shapes that we have seen our customers use are a rosette, a star, a shield shape and a circle, but you can use any shape to meet your needs. For example, a football, a baseball hat, or a paw print.

Step 2: Choose Your Design and Text

After you have your shape, tell us what you would like printed on your charm. We print in full color and printing is always included in the price of your charm. We can print text and/or designs on the charm.

Popular options are the year, anniversary years, club logos or name and event names. You can also use a stock design with text. And as always, if you need help with artwork for your charm our talented art department is happy to help.

Step 3: Choose Your Finish

You have decided on a shape for your charm and what you would like printed on your charm so all you need to do now is to “finish” it off (pun intended). We offer 6 standard finishes: bright or antiqued* gold, silver and bronze from which to choose.

That’s it. It’s that easy. You’ve designed your charm. Now we will attach your shape to a lobster claw clasp and you have a unique custom charm designed specifically for you at an affordable price!

(*Antique finish is not currently offered on the website – you will need to call our customer service department to order: 1-800-556-2440)

Adding A Little Sparkle To Our Product Line

Hodges is leading one of the hottest trends in custom award medals- adding glitter to die cast medals to create that WOW factor for our customers.  We introduced our custom GEM medal product line  in 2013, which was one of our most successful product launches in our history!

Our customers have asked for more, so we have been busy developing new products which take advantage of the WOW factor provided by adding glitter.  Late last year we introduced GEM Dog Tags  and recently also have introduced our new GEM Tag Medals , available with a grosgrain, Millennium, or satin ribbon.

Our Custom Spincast Medals  are now available with glitter fill and the new, Hodges exclusive RSG Medals features Red/White/Blue glitter filled stars.

New color variations for the RSG medal will also be announced this summer.
Check our blog frequently this summer to learn about more of our new products and special offers.

Hodges Badge Company, Inc. opens new manufacturing Facility in Washington, MO.

For Immediate Release

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (October 9, 2015) – Rick Hodges, President of Hodges Badge Company, announced the opening of their new manufacturing facility in Washington, Missouri today. The 82,000 square foot building consolidates all of the firm’s Missouri activities under one roof for the first time in many years. Hodges previously operated from two separate buildings elsewhere in Washington Missouri.

Speaking at the grand opening celebration today, CEO Rick Hodges and General Manager Jolyn Maune praised the hard work of the Hodges team and of all the contractors who worked to make this day possible. In particular, Hodges thanked Washington Engineering and Architecture for their design work, Lewis & Associates (Project Management) and Sieve Contractors (steel and metal building work). The project was financed by the Bank of Franklin County.

Members of the Hodges family traveled from all over the US to attend this event. During the ceremonies, Hodges Board Chairman Jim Hodges said, “When we first considered Washington for our second plant location, everyone in the community, from Dick Oldenburg, then the community development director, to the banks, contractors, and the entire business community welcomed us with open arms. Of course, these people would benefit from our arrival. But what it conveyed was that Washington was looking for new business and wanted to grow. And grow it has. In 1987, when we were looking for a building site it would have been easy to pick any of a hundred towns, but we wanted one that was business friendly and looking to grow because then our investments would grow with the town. They have. We believe that Washington’s growth will continue, and our investment in this new building along with it.”

Mr. Hodges stated that the company currently employs 65 people in Washington, a number that is expected to rise in the coming years. In fact, the company is looking for new employees in both Rhode Island and Missouri. This new building includes facilities for Customer Service, rosette and ribbon manufacturing, engraving, and trophy production. Medals will also be added to the lines produced in Missouri in 2016.

Reflections on a summer spent in manufacturing

Groundbreaking Groundbreaking at 6440 Enduro Drive

From a young age I’ve been exposed to my family’s manufacturing business, Hodges Badge Company, but it wasn’t until this summer that I got out of the office and into the manufacturing area that I really started to understand it.

Enduro Drive View from road

I’ve spent the better part of every summer since I was about twelve working at the family business in one role or another, some summers were spent cutting the grass, others spent in sales and marketing, I even spent one summer working on product videos for the web – but this summer was different.

HBC Portsmouth Hodges Badge Company Portsmouth,RI Facility

In November of last year we began a large project to develop a new building in Missouri. We’ve had manufacturing there for 25+ years but it always lagged behind our other facility in Portsmouth, RI – the one I’d grown up in. I…
